If someone starts a tag with a hashtag, drop/ignore the hashtag

I think it's just a habit from Twitter which is fine but when folks put in "#eggbug" (shows in post as ##eggbug) as a tag it makes a whole separate tag from "eggbug" (shows in post as #eggbug)
this not only makes searching really goofy because you now have 2 tags for the same exact thing, this could be a problem for folks who have tag filtering since i'm pretty sure the hashtagged versions are counted as completely different tags for the purposes of filtering
when someone adds a hashtagged tag i think it might be good to either 1. drop the hashtag upon adding the tag, or 2. make hashtagged tags link somehow to their nonhashtagged tags (ignoring the hashtag)
