Ability to re-share a locked account's shares without clicking through to original post

Currently, locked accounts are a bit clunky, on account of the fact that the share button doesn't work.
I assume that this is an artifact of the fact that a share counts as a type of post. Not being able to share a post or a reply from a locked account makes sense, but if someone on a locked account makes a non-reply share of a post from a public account, one has to click through to the original post to share it.
A more ideal solution to eliminate friction here would be making the share button work, but either show "[locked account]" with no link in the
