Another feature I miss from LiveJournal: given an RSS feed from any site, you could create a "feed account" which would just post blog entries based on the feed's items. Otherwise it was just a normal account: you could follow it to see its posts, and comment on them with other users (it was very much a Google Reader precursor in that way).
It was very convenient to have everything and everybody you wanted to follow all in one place, and conversations about the articles sometimes introduced you to new people to follow.
