I understand that there is a downside here—tags are no longer as "insulated" from the original poster—but I strongly agree with Dante that the benefits are much more substantial. I think notification-visible tags goes a long way to helping to establish a culture of "conversational tagging" in which people add sotto voce commentary on posts they reblog without needing to add a full post of their own.
I would also deeply love this, the conversational tagging on tumblr is, aside from being a lot of fun, really helpful for high anxiety times! it feels much less formal than leaving a comment, and much less potentially high stakes than a rechost+additional comment
came onto these forums to suggest this—glad it's already posted!
i would also like to add the option to toggle this on and off.
I feel similarly.

Fairly simple I think, but I really loved that on Tumblr, when someone reblogged something, it was fairly simple to see which tags they added when doing so. It would be great if those tags were also visible in the cohost notifications feed, similar to how reblog text is visible in the notifications feed.
I've attached an image of how that shows up on Tumblr, I'm thinking something akin to this?
