toggle collapsing notifications (per category would be great)

I would love to be able to change whether I want notifications to be collapsed by their category (or collapse/uncollapse them all). I love likes being collapsed, but I was actually using the follow notifications to keep an eye out and see if
anyone I know was new on the site and following me. With the collapsing
now, I have to hover over every icon to check.
