Private accounts: notifications for follow requests but not new follows

If I have a private account, and my good friend Eggbug makes a follow request, I don't get a notification when Eggbug requests to follow me ... but I do get a notification when I accept their follow request.
I already know that Eggbug is following me. They're only following me because I just clicked that button. I do not need a notification for this.
But I would like a notification when Eggbug requests to follow me. That way, I know to check my follow requests.

yes, please! if i have follow requests pending i'd like to have some indication
