Having the same issue on Firefox 119 on Windows 10 as well as Safari on iPhone (iOS 16).
This is much more of an issue for me on iOS because the bottom-right X gets put right above the keyboard's "Done" button when making a post with one or four images.
This seems to be resolved, as they've removed the close button in the bottom-right of the page.

Repro steps:
- Open the Cohost front page
- Click on either post button
- Type some stuff in the form
- Close the post with the X in the bottom-right of the page. The post composer will close without warning.
- Click on either post button again
- The "Discard this post?" dialog box shows up on top of a blank post composer
Ideally, clicking the bottom right cancel button should show the discard dialog *before* closing the post editor.
