Image upload sometimes gets stuck on "Uploading..."

Certain images fail to upload no matter what, getting stuck on the
"Uploading..." step, while others go through fine. So far it's happened on
both Firefox (118.0.2, Linux) and Safari (iOS 17.0.3). Not sure when it started, but I started seeing it at least sometime in the last month.
I also happen to get a "Cross-Origin Request Blocked" in FF's console during image upload when this happens, something to do with "redcent-dev"; maybe it's related?
