i uploaded an 80,000px drawing of a dog to cohost. i wanted to see if there was any sort of limit to this, but nope; it's just the filesize limit. my browser would just download and decode the full image, taking up a third of my CPU usage in the process and fully blasting my computer's fans. multiple users reported that it would crash their browsers the moment they encountered the post with the image in it. jae eventually personally removed the image from the site because it was causing too much trouble.
maybe limiting the image resolution would be useful here?
