If I block and silence a user, I would like if posts that “tag” that user to also be hidden. Perhaps this could be an option rather than being the default behavior. For example, if I have @staff blocked, I won’t see their posts, comments, or posts made by other users that are replies to their post or comments that are made in reply to their comments. While obviously a post made about a user is not made by that user, I think it’s not dissimilar to a reply or comment made in response (by a different user but still relevant, presumably why they’re still hidden). Of course, once text-based filtering is implemented, a relatively low effort workaround could be to simply filter posts that mention those usernames - it’s not quite as effortless as it happening by default, but it would work.
