When im browsing profiles on desktop, I find it cumbersome to navigate to specific pages, options, and dashboards integral to the site experience such as Notifications, My Profile, and Settings. Needing to load the home screen to do these things is slow and connection-reliant. I think this could be remedied by adding a semi-transparent overlay (not unlike how tumblr does it on blogs) or a navigation bar (not unlike how twitter, DeviantArt, Reddit, and many other sites do it) to the top of profiles and other types of pages in order to smooth out and expedite the site navigation experience.
