Posts mistakenly appear shareable even after sharing is turned off if one is viewing a previous share

To elaborate:
Alex posts "hello world" at 1 PM.
Brett shares the post at 2 PM.
Alex turns off sharing on the post at 3 PM.
Chaz comes across Brett's share at 4 PM. The share button is still visible for Chaz, and usable, the site allowing a reshare to be composed, but (correctly) nothing happens when "post now" is clicked. No error message or other visible change.
