i feel like "hide replies" on a user page implies "hide this users replies to other people." but it hides all replies.
so if you do the "thread" thing, wherein you make a chost, and then later "reply" to that chost with new information, then that is considered a reply by this setting. the end result is that only the very first chost in someone's solo "thread" appears on their page, which I think is about the opposite of what we'd all want to happen.
in other words: the "hide replies" switch on user pages should not hide replies when they are part of a thread that solely contains the users own chosts.
