Only show latest rechost with additional content when added by OP

Currently, tag page behavior shows each chost and rechost by an original poster if they use the original post's tags and add new content. This is well, good, and welcome, but in the case of using a general topic tag while livechosting, it means that the general topic tag becomes flooded with this single poster's chosts.
Is it possible for it to just show the latest in the thread, instead of each iteration? While the "hide middle of long threads by default?" setting is useful if such posts were on a user's main feed, it only goes so far when each chost in a tag is from the same user, of the same chost thread.
