It seems that cohost now removes color profiles from uploaded images (this did not happen before, so it must be a relatively recent change…). For example, a png screenshot that originally had the “Color LCD” profile will instead have the sRGB color profile when uploaded, causing colors to appear duller.

I noticed this especially on this post:
you can see the reds on the left (cohost) are significantly desaturated compared to the right image (original)
