putting something that is not a valid link in the 'link' field in bio breaks the 'edit profile' sidebar with no feedback

if i try to do this the 'save changes' button becomes unresponsive when clicked, there is no message about what is wrong, clicking the button may navigate me away from the page without saving any other changes to the profile as well
whether or not the link field should be possible to use for shitposting, there should be better feedback about why exactly i cannot save changes to my profile
