(Speculative) Show people’s avatars when they like your post

Idle thought: What if, on your own posts, you saw the avatars of the last few people who liked it, where a like number would be on other sites.
Motivation: I don’t actually care much about notifications for likes, mostly I just want to be able to see that my friends are appreciating my posts. Having the latest one, or latest few on my own posts would give the “ah people like this” that a number does, but mirroring the information that’d be presented in notifications and without a number that keeps going up.
(Obvious potential downside: woo query performance)

Twitter used to do this! I miss it. If people are concerned about it being a popularity contest thing, I wonder how it would feel if you would only see the avatars of people you follow, or maybe are mutuals with.
