For the time being, would ctrl-click / middle mouse button clicking on the share link help, to open the re-share window in a new tab? Then at least your position on the timeline isn't lost.

I've been reposting a lot, and I'm starting to notice the sluggish process to do so and losing where I was on my feed as I get sent back to the top after reposting. Hope something like this can be considered! (imagine the image down below, but with the draft for a reblog!)
